Kathmandu
Guru Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rimpoche, the lotus-born God who introduced Tibetan Buddhism in Tibeat) acquired the level of Mahamudra vidyadhara in Pharping, which is known as the sacred location of Yangleshö and is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Vajrayogini Temple, Shesnarayan Temple, Gorakhnath Temple, and the self-arising Ganesh near Asura Cave are further significant religious monuments. The shrine to Goddess Kali, Dakshinkali Temple, is located further south. As sacrifices to the goddess, devotees offer a variety of animals, including chickens, goats, and sheep. As the blood-hungry manifestation of the goddess Parvati, Shiva's wife, Dakshinkali is well-known. One of the valley's oldest settlements is believed to be Kirtipur. Visit Kirtipur for stunning architecture, hilltop temples, and panoramic views of the city. Walking through its meandering streets has the feeling of walking through the village.
