Trekking
Mardi Himal
Mardi Himal is a challenging and beautiful 4-day trek in the Annapurna region with stunning views of the Himalayas. Compared with the famous Everest Base Camp trekking or the Annapurna Loop trek, this is a lesser-known route.
After completing the Poon Hill trek, we started the Mardi Himal trek in Ghandruk. As with most trekking routes in Annapurna Reserve, you have multiple options to start and end your trek. Most of the people we met on the hike took Poon Hill or Annapurna Base Camp hikes before Mardi Himal, and it seemed popular to combine this route with one of the other hikes in the reserve.
Mardi Himal used to be a little-known trek in the Annapurna Sanctuary. It was a bit of a surprise for us to see many people trekking on this route. There are still fewer people on this route than Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit, but it's definitely not as inaccessible as before.
